Big Star & Community

Quilting can be a solitary hobby, but it can also be a way to connect with a community.

My customer, Laura, shares her love of quilting by teaching others how to quilt. This quilt top was made by one of her students.

As a longarmer, I belong to a group called the Longarm League. When I have a situation I am unsure of, I can get advice from the Longarm League. Tapping into the knowledge and expertise of this community has given me the confidence to stretch myself as a small business owner.

ASIDE: When I was thinking about starting a longarm business, I wasn’t sure how to go about it. I was saved by The Longarm League’s course called “Rookie Season”. I couldn’t have done it without that support.

But back to my story … this quilt has a lovely minky backing and with the “Peak Blooms” panto/design, it makes for one very cuddly quilt.
